Since becoming Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members in November 2023 with my partner Alecxis, we’ve had the please of calling Disney’s Riviera Resort our home resort. The resort, which opened in 2019, still holds that new, pristine feel. The ornate lobby and elegant entrance offer a refined escape right in the heart of the Disney World magic. From our very first visit, we knew we had to make this place our home resort. After a meeting with our Disney Vacation Club Guide, Nicole, we initially purchased 150 points to use each year until 2070. Soon, we realised that wasn’t enough, and we grew our membership to 350 points, allowing us to truly enjoy our yearly trips to the resort we now proudly call home.

The resort is inspired by Walt Disney’s love for the European Riviera, and you can feel that influence throughout. From photos and mementos of his family trips to subtle nods in the decor, Disney’s Riviera Resort brings a touch of Europe to the heart of Walt Disney World. The architecture of the resort is stunning, but what truly sets it apart are the exclusive murals inspired by the classic Disney movies, Tangled and Peter Pan. There are also charming details, such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse appearing in the furnishings and fixtures, paying tribute to the characters who started it all. The resort’s artwork is another highlight, featuring Disney characters and locations in a way that feels unique to the resort.

As for the rooms, they are nothing short of luxurious - combining modern comforts with European elegance. I’ve had the pleasure of staying in a 1-bedroom Villa, and after spending several nights there, it’s easily my favourite room in all of Walt Disney World. The resort offers a range of accommodations, from cosy rooms for two to a 3-bedroom Grand Villa, which can host up to twelve guests. Thanks to our DVC membership, we’re excited to experience each room type at the resort during our future trips.

The resort offers a café, a quick-service, and a table-service restaurant - Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera. I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying all three locations, and each offers something for everyone with a European influence. My partner and I especially loved our meal at Topolino’s Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, where we enjoyed a memorable meal with the incredible view shown in the photo above. We even caught the fireworks from nearby EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios while dining. The terrace itself offers stunning panoramic views of the entire Walt Disney World resort area, making the experience even more magical.

There is also a unique and exclusive mode of transpiration at this deluxe villa resort - the Disney Skyliner. This continuously moving gondola system connects Disney’s Riviera Resort to other hotels, as well as nearby EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, adding a fantastic perk to your stay. The Disney Skyliner runs from park open to park close, offering a great alternative to the regular Disney bus service. What truly sets it apart is the ride itself- gliding high above the traffic and busy highways, you can enjoy stunning aerial views of Walt Disney World Resort and beyond.

Disney’s Riviera Resort holds a special place in my heart. As my home resort, it is now my go-to for a peaceful and luxurious in the Walt Disney World Resort. The blend of European elegance and Disney magic, paired with first-class dining and the convenience of the Disney Skyliner, makes it a top-tier stay. It’s a must-visit on your next trip to Walt Disney World - a perfect spot to take a relaxing break from the bustling theme parks. Whether you’re lounging in the lobby, enjoying the lawn, or exploring the resort and nearby Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, there are plenty of peaceful moments to be found. My partner and I love taking a stroll around the resorts to unwind. Disney Vacation Club has been a game-changer for planning future Disney trips, and I can’t wait to continue creating magic and memories at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Thanks for joining me at Starlight Mouse, don’t forget to pull the yellow strap!
